Can We Say RED

I know I can, we had a fabulous time kayaking, although I feel like I have orangutan arms from all that paddling. We opted for the shorter 6 mile trip and I'm so pleased we did. I was absolutely starving by the time we'd finished, I'm sure I wouldn't have managed 12 miles, plus there were so many people on the river. I don't think I've ever seen so many drunks on the water before, and to think that they were going to get out of the water and into their cars. If I remember right I said I had to remember the sunscreen, yes I did remember, but I started out my paddle in my swimsuit and a pair of 3/4 pants. Five minutes into paddling I decided I was going to cook with those pants on, so off they went, but I forgot to smother my thighs with sunscreen. That's where the "Can we say red" comes into the post. Have you ever been so sun burnt that you're sure the skin your wearing was from when you were a foot shorter, that's how it is today, my skin doesn't fit me any more... How's this for a touch of sunburn, you'd think at 50 I'd be old enough to know better, wouldn't you?....

I did some serious fabric shopping Saturday afternoon and yesterday. Aren't these happy fabrics. Hollie's asked for a rag quilt for her graduation and we saw these at the quilt store not too far from the school several months ago for $9.00 a yard. I found them yesterday locally for $1.45 a yard, what a bargain. So I think I have enough to make a start on her quilt.

I also managed to pick up some more pinks for Jenna's pink 9 patch that she asked for at the beginning of winter, oops sorry Jenna, winter's just about over.

And these pretty mauve's for a project that's ready to be put together. Look Bren, purples...lol...
Time for some more Aloe gel on those lobster legs, then into the sewing room.

Happy stitching everyone, thanks for stopping by and saying hello.

That burn looks painful, keep applying the aloe. Super price on the fabric, I'm envious, out fabrics never get that cheap.

It sounds as though you had a fun weekend in spite of the sunburn.
What a wonderful time you must have had picking out those fabrics and to get them at that price too!
I love them all and look forward to seeing the gorgeous quilts you will make from them.

Now that's a sunburn if I've ever seen one. You must be in pain, you poor girl. I hope the aloe does give you some relief. I tried it for sunburn once but I was allergic but DH swears by it. The fabrics are something! All that for the bargain price you paid - and they're gorgeous. Happy stitching, when you've feeling ok.
