Is it Monday already? I feel like we totally lost the weekend. It started out like any other weekend, me up first and DH trying to catch up on sleep. We decided to make an early start on the weekly shopping so that we'd have the afternoon and Sunday after church to ourselves, to do what we wanted. Do you think that, that worked out for us? Well of course it didn't. We got all the way into town, a 45 minute drive, only to discover that DH had left his wallet with license and cards sitting at home. So back into the van and head back home.... not quite...... About a 1/3rd the way home, we hear this klump, klump sound.... darn flat front tyre. Pull over and start to change the tyre when who should pull up behind us, but a State Trooper (remember no license). Lovely young man, changes the tyre for us and is about to fill out an assist form when he asks DH for license...oops. relay story of left wallet on table at home, he smiles nicely and we're on our way (no ticket for driving while not carrying said license). All I can say is totally BLESSED.
Limped back home on a doughnut tyre )what odd tyres), get wallet and off to the tyre centre. 3 hours later the tyre's replaced. Not feeling quite so blessed at this point. Head back into town for shopping and managed to get everything done, and returned home by 9.30 pm. Yes that's right 9.30.... Oh my gosh was I ever pooped, and a little ticked off that my Saturday was completely over and nothing to show for it, except groceries and half a roll of batting at 1/2 price (bonus).
Yesterday wasn't much better. I totally lost my weekend, and like I said nothing to show for it except for a messy house.
I decided as today didn't look like it was going to be much better and the place was a mess, I may as well add to it and spend the day in the kitchen. So we have the crock pot going with tonight's dinner, a yummy beef casserole, and as I type this delicious cobbler is cooking for tonight's dessert. Plus I managed to make some mini meatloaves, done in the muffin tins and a regular sized one which will all go into the freezer to another nights dinner and sandwich filling for DH.
DH and I have decided it's time for a move as the house we're in has terrible inefficient heating and cooling and neither of us want to go through another winter here. We did have thoughts of moving inter-state, but realised that, that wouldn't work when it came time for our monthly visits with Miss Hollie. so we've decided to stay in OK until she's graduated from school (sorry Bren). So now I have the wonderful job of finding another house to move into, and the thought of all that packing,arrrrg..... one of my pet dislikes and DH suggested last night that it would be nice if we could find another house within two weeks before we start the Bible Study in our home. Thanks honey........
On the quilting front, zero. I've started the machine quilting on the monster that was in the last post, but I think that may be put on hold for a while and I'll just have to settle for hand work at the moment until things have settled down and we're moved.
Happy Stitching and thanks for allowing me to vent a little.
