Odd title isn't it? Just a quick post to let you all know I'm just about finished with the unpacking. Well I still have the sewing room to do and that looks like it's been hit by a bomb. I have no idea how I'm going to sort it out. There's boxes stacked up to the ceiling and clothes laying on the bed, ready to hang up. Still haven't found the camera yet....... I know it's in one of the sewing room boxes. So no photo's yet, I'm sorry.
As I'm trying to figure out where to hang some of the quilts and wall hangings I thought I'd ask you how you go about hanging yours. I don't want a wall filled with hooks and holes. So if you have a place where you rotate your quilts or wall hangings of various sizes, what method do you use to hang them with?
I received my beautiful 4 Season's quilt on Friday, but I want to wait until I've found my camera before who I reveal who it's from. It's beautiful.
Happy Stitching.
Linda

Glad to hear you are in the new house and quickly finding your way out of those boxes!
I WAAAANT PIIIIICTURES!!!! Did you "hear" the whine????
Yea Linda!! The end is almost within sight. Can't wait to see
photos.
I use small craft dowel rods and small nails to hang my wall hangings. If you want to move them around you can use toothpaste to fill holes in white walls. The holes won't even show.
I hang some of mine on curtain rods. The small round decorative black ones. You can fine cute ends to those rods now at Target. Then you can just change the quilts by putting a sleeve on the back of them or you can use those hooks that slide onto the rod for curtains.
I think that you are serious. Surely there will be very many loads. I think that it is very difficult to find it when you want to look for something.
I do not want to hang a lot of things on the wall, too. I think that space having nothing is necessary. Please display it splendidly
I have things still in boxes, they never ALL get unpacked, lol. Storage, you know.
Glad your in and almost done, you're amazing.
You don't wanna know how I hang mine, it's shameful.
Finished unpacking .... wow! If there is an award out there, you should win it.
For my small to lap size quilts, I use 3M Command mini hooks. I skip the alchol cleaning step and not one of my quilts have come down yet. There are also replacement strips that you can buy if you are going to be changing the tabs often. Use one hook for small quilts and 2-3 hooks for my larger quilts. To hang them, I use anything from a plastic ruler, thin moulding, and carpet threshold metal strips. For my huge quilts, we have a electrical conduit pipe with 3 holders. There, does that help you?
Happy to see you posting again Linda. I guess that means you survived the move.
I'm another that is tapping fingers waiting anxiously for pictures!

Wooo Hooo -- almost done with the unpacking. And hey -- the sewing room? That's the FUN stuff (dishes, pots, pans --ick, gimme the fabrics!!!)
Wow, almost finished unpacking, I bet you will fix your sewing room in no time.
I use dowel rods and small nails too. For bigger ones, someone suggested rolling them and placing them in baskets. And another suggestion I received is using velcro, the sticky kind.
Wow Linda...you are amazing. I'm sure you'll have that sewing place in order soon too.
Ya know, this could be another chapter in Darlene's book! lol I don't have anything to contribute to that chapter that others haven't already mentioned! Gosh, I do hope you're taking good care of yourself! Keep well!
I think it took me 6 mo to unpack everything...your quick.
I have a quilt rack on the wall which I change quilts through the seasons. For most of the other quilts I use dress maker pins hammered in the walls. They leave a small hole so I can move quilts around.
