......and Nancy kindly directed me to a designer who had a lovely wallet pattern. I just need to wait patiently....lol... for these patterns to arrive.

I checked out my LQS for the scissors, and wouldn't you know it, they were out of stock, but I did manage to do a little stash enhancement while I was there. I found the fabrics for Miss Hollie's bag and wallet

and fabrics for another project, but I can't tell you about that just yet.
Have you ever read the stories of Pippi Longstockings? These were one of my favorites as a kid, this tall lanky kid with bright coloured tights, she reminded me of myself in a lot of ways.
Look at those legs, they go all they way up to her armpits..... That's how it is for me, my legs are exactly half my height, 36 inches exactly. So today I'll be doing a false hem on a new pair of trousers, so that they reach at least to the top of my shoes...lol...
Happy Stitching.

Your fabrics look wonderful! Those blues and browns will make a perfect bag and wallet, and I look forward to see what you do with the other ones!
The author of Pippi being Swedish (and Norway "importing" a lot of litteratur from Sweden all the time), of course she was a cetral part of my childhood. I actually played her friend Annica in a school play when I was seven *lol*. But there are other Astrid Lindgren books I love more than Pippi... the novel of "The Brothers Lionhearted", "Ronja the robber's daughter", the Emil-books, and the short story "Play my Linden, sing my nightingale" (sorry don't know if they translate to this in English...). Anyway - hope your trousers turn out ok :o)
Great bag patterns. Most women would kill for those long legs....not the pain you suffer though :(
Did you notice the side note and link for corrections to the pattern that you ordered? http://www.indygojunctioninc.com/store/information.php?info_id=38
I adored Pippi stories as well. Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder were also my fav's.
The bag pattern is really cute and I love the fabric you have added to your 'collection'.
Gorgeous fabrics and patterns!!! I loved Pippi as a child and then so did Maddi when it resurfaced a few years ago. Good luck with the trousers!!!
I hope those new fabrics won't find themselves made into more HEARTS!!!! YUK!!!!
Oooh, that wallet pattern looks interesting. I make one that zips, but this one has lots of compartments. And Pippi is awesome! When the kids were little, they had Pippi day at school and they had to dress up. I made them a pippi wig -- it was pretty cute -- little red braids sticking out. I was kind of scared they were going to poke someone in the eye!
Nice "enhancements!" Lovely fabrics and patterns. The wallet is especially intriguing. I've been thinking about making one. Ummm, I think I'll wait and see how you get on with yours. ;->
Pippi was a special friend of ours, too, when our 2 youngest were that age. Actually, I enjoyed her just as much as they did. Maybe more.
Ahh, the pants hem problems... Opposite problem--I am just cutting OFF several inches of my new pants. Ooo, should I send the trimmings to you maybe? :-D I always feel like I should be saving it and using it somehow. After all, I PAID for that fabric I am cutting off. I should not complain. I'm sure putting in a false hem is more tedious than whacking off and re-heming.
Have fun with all the new goodies! Take lots of pics!
Blessings,
Linda H
Long legs are good - all the best models have them! I hat doing alterations though and would rather make something from scratch.
I like the wallet pattern - who is the pattern by please?
Love the fabrics and cannot wait to see that gorgeous bag made up.

I loved Pipp stories when I was a kid-- Even dressed like her one year for Halloween. The fabrics are perfect for the purse. Cool button.

just love your fabrics....
The bag pattern and the fabrics look awesome. I am sure it will look great.
Pippi is very known in Germany too as all the other books by her author.
Fortunately I am average size and I never have to alter anything. More time to do some quilting!
I hope you manage the tedious things fast to make that lovely bag!
Take care.
The fabrics are great, I am sure your princess will like them. We know Pippi here but as Anne Ida I did like other stories by the author better than Pippi :)
I loved the Pippi Longstocking books. I never read any of the others books by Astrid Lindgren.
Looks like a really great wallet pattern. Have fun making it!
Just love the wallet-pattern! Will you please shoe us when you are done?
Pippi ia a big hit in my house! But I think I like Emil even better. He is a sweet little boy, having the best intensions with what he is doing, and most of the times things never turn out the way he thinks! I love to read about him!
Love the blue/brown colors. Haven't made anything with them--but they're growing on me.
I too was blessed with long legs--jeans are sometimes hard to find!
love th materials you have got there.......
Oh, I adore Pippi Longstocking! My daughter reminds me of her...not always in the best of ways. LOL! Gorgeous fabrics, you have such great taste!
Love your fabric choices! The bag will look splendid! Looking forward to seeing the completed bag! Keep well!
