What A Wonderful

What a wonderful way to start my day. Isn't this cupcake pattern cute? and oh that rose fabric is so soft and feminine. Well lucky me I won these this morning, the pattern and 2 yards of this gorgeous fabric from Paris Bebe Fabrics . What a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday.

Now if any of you are interested in winning a little something, then pop on over to Nancy's blog. She's having a little competition to see if you can guess how old I am. Now remember to be kind....lol....
I think I'll spend my day doing some more on the applique. Which reminds me I had a question I wanted to ask all you talented appliquer's. Is there a product that you can put on your finger to stop from pushing the needle through the skin. The finger I use to do this has a hole in it, and I don't feel comfortable wearing my thimble for applique. I tried using a dot band aid but that didn't work too well either.
Happy Stitching, and thanks for taking the time to answer my odd questions.

Happy B.day to you. To answer your question I use a very narrow piece of masking tape..it works out great.I don't do that much applique but I hand quilt and wear a thimble on one finger...but the other finger can get a hole in it (like you mentioned) if I don't wrap the tape around it.

Hello Linda....

I use little oval plastic thimbles with sticky on them. When I can pull my b-tt off of the couch, I will look for the name...

I get them at my LQS..

Happy Birthday Linda

Have you tried Thimble-Its? They are an oval plastic pad that sticks to your finger. I use them when I'm sewing on binding. I haven't had to use them yet for applique, but I bet they would work well. You can easily find them on-line.

Happy Birthday! I'm not a true applique afficiando (not sure I can SPELL either!), but I wondered if you could try that Nu-skin stuff? its kinda like super glue for cuts. If you put some on the end of you finger and let it dry, it might do the trick...

Happy BD to you ...... For applique, I just add a bit of clear nail polish on the end of my fingers (one for pushing the needle and the other for stopping the needle.
