Royal Mail & Bits and Pieces

A lovely parcel arrived this afternoon all the way from Wales. Thank you Andrea for the lovely bag and the yummy fat quarters. I'll have to find a special project for them, and I think you need to do a tutorial for the bag, it's just so cute.

The Saturday sewing time at the library was loads of fun, about 12 ladies turned up for the mystery. Hmm I wish I'd used fabrics that I had more of so I could have increased the size of the quilt when I got home. So instead I'll just add a couple of borders and use it as a little table topper.
This Thursday through to Sunday the quilt guild has a quilt camp. Somewhat like a retreat, the only difference is you don't sleep over, each person comes home at night. Probably because it's only 15 minutes away. I've decided I'll go along to that on the Friday and Saturday and see if I can get some concentrated work done on some of the ufo's....lol.... The other added bonus is there will be a vendor there with loads of discounted fabrics. Not sure my "sweetie" is too happy about that part of the weekend.....but I'm sure it will be fun. Pot Luck lunch and dinner, so I need to put my thinking cap on and come up with something that perhaps they haven't tried before.

Thank you for all your lovely encouraging words on my new embroidery blocks. Some of you asked if I was going to make the pattern available for sale once it was finished. To be honest I hadn't even thought about that until you asked. I've looked into copyright and have decided to take the plunge, so wish me luck, in the hopes I don't fall flat on my face.....lol.... This leads to a challenge for you all, the name of the quilt. All the blocks are based on 1Corinthians 13 verses 4 through 8, and sprinkled in with theses blocks that have already been designed, will be some embroidered quilting blocks. These blocks will be surrounded with pieced blocks using the Urban Indigo fabrics. The challenge is, come up with a name for the quilt that's appropiate and if I use your choice of name, then once the pattern is written up, you'll receive a free copy.

These are the lastest two completed.

Happy Stitching, and thank you for stopping by to visit with me.

How pretty! I love the combination of embroidery and quilting! I see that the blocks have a nature sort of theme, so my suggestion for the name is... "The Nature of Love." Good luck to you!

Linda, I'm so excited about your designing endeavor. The blocks are lovely and the overall quilt design sounds wonderful. I really like eamylove's suggested title, "The Nature of Love." It seems to sum it up from what I have seen and heard.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Love your new quilt! For the one in progress, what about 'Words of Love' - though Love is... is what popped into my mind first.

You could make a pavlova for the retreat...

Linda, I love your new project in the works! When the pattern is available I know I will be standing in line for it! As to a name, one idea is "What is Love". I will be thinking on it some more!
I'm so glad you have found a great guild to belong to. It is always so much fun to sew with friends!

I like the name "Indigo Love"

Have fun at your retreat . . . can't wait to see what you work on and what purchases you make *s*

Yes, great news, your stitchery will be a hit. I will buy one as soon as you will publish it. I don´t think I am the best to find a name as English is not my language but what about something including Love, like Love´s many sides.

I love the quilt. I think you should call it 'The best love' - everything else is an imitation

How about 'What is Love' for your quilt? Or if it doesn't offend 'Corinthians R Love' or something along those lines.

your embroidery is looking great.. how about calling your quilt 'love is...' or 'the word is love'.. simple, straight to the point.. have a grea time at the retreat and smuggling fabric back into the house!

"A Gift of Love" is my suggestion!!

I really like your quilt. For the name, if you haven't already named it, I was thinking...

"And the greatest of these is Love"

or if that seems too long,

"love's embrace"
