Some Of Your Questions Answered

Just a little update on the previous post. My apologies for not responding to all your entries, but with over 155 it's just too big of a job. So please know that if you've entered and have left a valid email address that you are entered.
Some of you asked about the fabric line and where it was purchased. Bee Happy by Mary Lou Weidman for Benartex. and I purchased it from Heart of Dixie, wonderful customer service.
Some of you also asked about the patterns. The bag pattern came from allpeoplequilt.com and being the person that I am I changed the design a little. The ironing mat was something I saw in a magazine and the travel iron cover was an idea I came up with as I was thinking of what I could put together in the bundle. The bucket pattern is from Farmyard Creations.
One of you asked how I made the bottom of the bags stable. I use either heavy duty corrugated covered cardboard or adhesive backing board used for cross stitching. I then make a sleeve for it to fit into so that it's covered and matches the rest of the bag.
I'm sorry I haven't answered your questions earlier but I've been taking advantage of the good weather and doing a little furniture restoration and preparing for the new Ministry position.

I was given a 'hot tip' for bag bottoms only this year.. Corflute.. the stuff they make those 'for sale' signs real estate agents use.. better than corrugated cardboard, and doesn't perish like cardboard if your baggie gets wet..

You can buy corflute and sign writing places, I managed to snaffle some from work and it works like a treat and much cheaper then templastic!

I have also used foam core board for the bottom of purses.

The corflute sounds like a good idea too.

Hi Linda
My friend Katherine told me about using old X-rays for bag bottoms and plastic templates - very thrifty! My Hubby starts his new ministry position on Monday, the last box got unpacked yesterday - Yay!

Your giveaway set looks absolutely beautiful! I didn't post a comment to go in your draw as I haven't been to a retreat yet and won't be going in the near future, well at least in the next 6 months anyway, I thought as it was a set to take to a retreat that someone who actually attends retreats should post a comment and win. I am sending the nicest thoughts over to whoever wins, it truly is a beautiful set that you have made.
You do an amazing job Linda!

Wonderful tip using the adhesive board used for cross-stitch! I had never thought of that! I would love to see before and after pics of the furniture. I just got a yard sale piece myself that needs some work. By the way, love the look of your blog! Is there a site that showed you how to do it?
