Looking Forward

With the start of a new year comes lists as long as our arms of things we'd like to achieve and resolutions. I'm not one to make New Year's resolutions, by doing so I feel I'm only setting myself up for disappointment. I do however look to the new year with new dreams and new goals, both in my stitching, family and spiritual life.

As I look at these empty spools I see that my stitching has brought a lot of joy, a desire that I hope will continue this year.

At long last I've finally finished the piecing of the Love quilt and have it all pinned out and ready to quilt. Then comes the pattern writing. I'm sure many of you thought I must have given up on this one.....

Half way through putting the rows together of a star quilt. Using Amandajean's layout, with a few changes to the blocks used.

A Christmas quilt that I stared in the middle of last year, but never got around to finishing. The last of the applique stitches went into this one last night, so now all that's left is a final border and pin it out ready to quilt. Hopefully this month will bring a few finishes.

Speaking of finishes May Britt and Kris have spurred me on with their challenge to finish up some of these languishing ufo's.
Of course there will be new projects started, like the lovely new BOM that Anne from Bunny Hills has offered.
With the rush from this past Christmas gift making, I've decided that my Christmas stitching will just continue throughout the year until I have it all completed. No more rushing like a mad woman to meet a postal deadline.
Nanette has a wonderful post about Christmas stitching. You can find it here.
This month is an extremely important month in our house. Without going into all the boring details that have spanned the last almost 5 years, on the 22nd of January the Immigration department will decide whether I will be permitted permanent residency in the US, or whether I need to return to Australia. Please keep this in your prayers. I'm trusting God for a positive outcome.
Happy Stitching.

I don't make resolutions either. I make attainable goals and then I feel success. Looking forward to seeing your finished projects. Every thing is crossed and all good thoughts heading your way about your residency.

Linda,
I will be praying for you...and your residency status. Your quilts
are so lovely and your new site is so uplifting and inspiring, plus reaffirming this weary one.
Hugs, Barb

Linda, I call all I look forward to, in the New Year, as goals. No resolutions that might get broken. It seems blogland is full of inspiration for us to accomplish these goals.
Love all the projects, but the primitive plaid one looks interesting.
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers on the 22nd. Can we send a vote in?
Keep Stitchen'

Three very lovely projects. I'm so looking forward to seeing your completed love quilt. Maybe Valentine's Day would be a good day to reveal the finished quilt? No pressure LOL.
Good luck on 22nd. I am sure you will be granted your wish to stay in the USA but I will have everything crossed on that day just as security.

Your stitching looks beautiful Linda. I don't do the resolutions but "face a fear a year" and challenge myself to overcome something. Good luck with the permanent residency too x

Lovely quilts, Linda. I was wondering if you would let me know who designed the pattern for the angel you made for Stina. I'd love to get one to make for a dear quilting friend.

Cheers...Ann :)

Your love quilt is very pretty also. I just noticed that you did amandajeans star quilt. So did I. She is my friend and taught me how to quilt!! Very nice job on your star quilt! I love the color choice. I did something very similar. Have a great day!
