Another week already, where did the weekend go? I spent time on Saturday and Sunday evening finishing the floor quilt for Hollie's bub. I had a piece of fabric that had rabbits, baskets and birdhouses scattered across it that I thought could be chopped up and used in the blocks. Unfortunately the pattern wasn't printed on the grain, so I had to decide what I could do with it. Ahhh leaning logs....lol...
None of the blocks are the same, none of them are centered (which is a feat in itself as I'm such a perfectionist). After looking at them for a while I thought, it's only for the floor, to be sat on, spilt on and played on, so it doesn't have to be "perfect", just bright and happy will be fine with me.
I love the way a quilt gets all soft and wrinkly after it's been washed.
I've been working on my Christmas in July swap items, started three and decided all three just won't suite. So it's back to the drawing board. I've also been working on another pattern, and still have more baby items that need to be stitched. I definitely need another pair of hands, a new mind or perhaps more hours in the day. Maybe all three.
I stumbled across another new to me blogger yesterday. Jenny is from Australia and has created some lovely stitching /applique designs that she's sharing with bloggers. So pop on over and say hello and have a look at her pretty blocks.
