Baby Dick & Jane Bento

Another baby quilt. I'm having so much fun working with the bright colors. It's a real step out of my box and I'm enjoying every moment. Dick and Jane fabric, perfect for a little one.
Washed and folded ready to be put with the others.
Happy Stitching.
Linda
P.S. I'm interested to know if, when you purchase your fabrics, do you tend to lean towards the new releases or do you just go with what makes your heart sing?

With my fabric purchases I tend to lean toward my heart singing. This way I know that it will be used at some point...

Linda that is darling!
I mostly by what makes my heart sing, I find if I bought it just because it was new I may never use it. I do find that more and more most fabric makes my heart sing LOL!

I buy what my heart tells me to buy.
You're like a machine at the moment turning out these beautiful little quilts.

I would never buy a new release unless it sung to me:) I usually go to the quilt shop with a color scheme in mind and go from there....

I usually go for what I love and will suit the project that I am working on.

Mostly what makes my heart sing. Which tends to be florals and civil war. But I have bought some newer lines lately, and I love the Dick and Jane, and wish I had bought more.

I go with fabrics that my heart likes. Sometimes I come home and discover that I already have 1 or 2 pieces of the fabric i just bought :) That must mean that my heart loves them.

Your bento is really lovely. I really like the bright colors!

Bright and fun! Love it. My sister bought the Dick and Jane I made. As for fabric...I love seeing the new releases but I don't buy them if I don't like them. So I buy what makes my heart sing.

I only buy what I love, even if it is unfashionable....too traditional maybe?!

What an great way to use Dick and Jane fabric. I only buy fabric that makes my heart sing. Sometimes that happens to be new fabric, sometimes it's older fabric.

I think you may have found a new calling with the bright fabrics, Linda! Bento Box is such a fun pattern to make!
I only purchase what makes my heart and eyes sing! Many times it turns out to be a new release because of the way it's displayed in the shop, however - they do have a way of catching your eye!
Cheers!
my word veri is dinglywo - sounds like something Australian - LOL!

Love the Dick and Jane. I've had my eye on that fabric, but have only purchased a few pieces since I don't have little ones to sew for.
I buy what makes my heart sing. Right ON!!

Whatever makes my heart sing! I have always loved the Dick and jane fabrics, but could never imagine what to do with them. Now, after seeing your quilt, I wish I had some!

Lovely little quilt.

As for fabrics? Both. I adore 30's and CW repros, but have been having a ball with some of the newer ranges. Not all of them, I tend to the more retro style.

My goodness, that's one great quilt. It looks fabulous with the Dick and Janes. I go with a bit of oth but that's only recently. I do like to mix the lines up most of the time.

I have never ever purchased fabric because it was the latest release or because someone's name was on it. I buy what I like.

Hi Linda, I do a bit of both, depends if I am buyin 'cos I just like it and it is likely to head to my stash, if I am purpose buying, I tend to listen to what tugs at my heart more...if you like it you see it you grab it!!
