What Customer Service?

Before I begin my little rant, I wanted to thank everyone for your sweet words on my last post. Please forgive me for not replying to your comments. I'm a little snowed under with craft fair stitching. All will be back to normal in a week.

Last month Jenny showed this photo of a book/pattern and I fell in love with it. Shipping from Australia was a little high so I went on a search here in the US to find it.

I was so excited to find it at this store, so it didn't take more than a second to hit that buy now button. Now normally I wouldn't spend $30.00 on a pattern but this was just too pretty to leave sitting on a shelf. At the beginning of the week I thought it strange that it hadn't arrived yet. So two phone messages and an email were left. No response. By this time I was more than irritated, I mean she had my money and my purchase. Time to step up the complaint. I'm so pleased I chose to purchase this item through Paypal and not use my credit card. Within 4 hours this dispute was settled and I have a refund. It's amazing how I couldn't get a response from her with the phone messages and email but, using the services of Paypal got this store owners attention immediately.

My lesson in all of this, shop at stores that are known to me or recommended by friends and fellow quilters. The down side, I still don't own this beautiful pattern.

Happy Stitching.
Linda

Linda let me know if you find it elsewhere. I too wanted to buy it but like you the shipping is too high

That is such a bummer that your purchase didn't work out--the pattern is beautiful!

Oh bummer! I saw that pattern and fell in love with it too. I hope you can find it elsewhere!

This is the second blog post I have read today that finally got a resolution through Paypal after trying and not succeeding with the merchant. I had a similar experience with an online quilt shop and was more than patient. As soon as I got Paypal involved, I got my money back immediately. Sorry you don't have your pattern, though.

Just put the pattern name into Google and it looks like you could buy the pattern through Amazon. That would probably be a safe bet.

I am glad it was taken care of by the paypal people.
I can't believe some people.

Linda, I'm trying to help you find that Village Embroidered Bag pattern here in the US. I've emailed an online shop that specializes in Aussie magazines and patterns to ask about it. www.TreasuredThreads.com. I hope they come through for you and your blogger-buds.

P.S. I'm heading down under next Wednesday. I can't wait!

I like to use the shopping feature on google. Go to google and type "embroidered village bag" and then click on the shopping link. It will bring up places it's available from and the price. Although it says you can buy it from Borders, when I went to their site I didn't find it. But Tower Books appears to have a copy for $19.98. Not familiar with them but their star rating on google is 4 stars. Good luck!

A friend of mine took classes with the author who lives in my area so I've seen the bag up close. The friend spent so much money on embellishing it with expensive buttons and so forth that after the cost of that and the classess, she said the bag cost her $500. $30 for the book doesn't seem so bad, lol. I hope you get hold of it.

Please let me know if you can't find it Linda and I'll see if one of my local shops can get it in and post it to you from Australia. I'm glad you did get a refund though.
