Decisions
After Wednesday's post I've come to the conclusion that sitting at my machine is probably an impossibility while I'm without my sewing room. Even though I've read a lot of posts from you all, I haven't always commented, probably because my creative side seems to have left. So I've decided that the only way to keep that creativity alive is to focus on some hand work, until my sewing room is once more my own. While reading blogs I came across this wonderful BOM and decided that a little hand applique would do the trick.

Busy hands, happy hearts. Pretty project.
That project should definitely be one that keeps you busy! It is beautiful!
Sounds like you have a good plan. Enjoy the summery feel of serene handwork. By the time your sewing room is up and running, you'll be filled to the brim with energy and creativity, I'll bet. I was without my sewing room for months and thought I'd just use the kitchen counter - didn't work for me. I was glad to be able to get back to my sewing room.
I liked what Stephanie said about Busy hands and happy hearts.
More and more I find myself leaning toward handwork projects like applique, hand-piecing, and embroidery. Being portable, it's better for TV "watching" (how much can you really watch when you're looking at what your hands are doing?) and even better when listening to an audiobook, which is my favorite thing to do.
This "Florabunda" design is beautiful, but I've never tackled anything like it. Good for you to give it a go. Keep us posted.

Linda, I admire anyone that can do all the handwork. Some of the work is so beautiful. I'm just always in such a hurry. Can't wait to see yours.
Maybe a little storage building in the back with an AC would do the trick.
