Weekend Fun

DH and I had a date on Saturday, a day out together. We decided to go for a drive, a little South, to a couple of areas that I hadn't seen before. Our first stop was to the Timberlake Rose Rock Museum.
They had an incredible range of rocks in the shape of roses. Apparently they form naturally in this shape.

On the way I spotted this hay baler, possibly of no interest to anyone else other than me, but having never seen one before I was fascinated.

We stopped at a local flea market and I picked up this old milk can. It's now in the process of having all the rust removed, and all going well it will be painted a nice red and sit outside. I had a great day, it was so nice, just to have time for ourselves, not something that happens too often.
Gorgeous girls continues to give us photo opportunities. She now has three teeth and sits well by herself.
Not much in the way of quilting, in fact nothing.
I can't seem to get myself motivated, so instead I took out my bead making supplies and whipped up a little necklace and bracelet for myself.
Hopefully  my enthusiasm for quilting will return soon and I can get back to the many projects that are waiting for me.
Until then.
Happy Stitching.
Linda

What a lovely smile and those flowers in her hair are so pretty!
Love the necklace and bracelet you made.
I'm sure you will soon feel like quilting again. And if not, than you will just have to wait a little longer. There are so many other nice things to do, as you already showed (O:

How nice that you could have some time away. Those rock roses are amazing! And Tayla is looking adorable. Three teeth! Wow. Crawling soon?

Your beadwork is lovely, and no beating up on yourself for doing what you WANT to do. Goodness. No one can go non-stop on sewing. Diversions are a GOOD thing. Enjoy those moments.

Sometimes those are the best kinds of days ... a flea market, a museum, taking some pictures, and just spending some time together. Every once in a while I can't seem to make myself sit down and sew (or even more frustrating read) and then it passes. What a cutie pie, love that little smile.

The quilting mojo will return soon Linda, I am sure. I love your beading... and your little grandie is growing so quick - she's adorable! :-)

I have never seen a hay-baler before either! Round hay bales are one of my all-time-favourite most beautiful things in the world. I'm always disapointed to see square ones!

Warm wishes!!! Vikki xx

Were you down by Noble? I thought that is the only place the roserocks sprouted. I think they are gorgeous and they come in a variety of sizes (within reason).

Glad you had a fun day.

Congrats on your vintage find. That will look neat painted red. By the way, it's a hay rake rather than a hay baler. First you mow the hay field, then the rake sort of combs it into a long skinny pile after it dries. The baler comes after that and makes it into bales. It is a pretty one though. Dad's were a different style...more like the brush on an upright vacuum, more horizontal with teeth. Hard to describe.
